چکیده
In Burkina Faso, availability of quality feed is the major constraint on livestock productivity. Adoption improved cereal cultivars among farmers could enhance fodder supply. This study assessed potential for to provide food and feed. The sites were located in Köppen climate Zone B (Katchari Saria) A (Farakoba) Faso (Beck et al., 2018). Five pearl millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.], nine sorghum [Sorghum bicolor Moench], four maize (Zea mays L.) grown during two rainy seasons. Grain yield forage biomass assessed, samples analyzed nutritive value using near infrared spectrometry (NIRS). For millet, MISARI-1 produced greatest grain (1.7, 2.2, 2.6 Mg DM ha–1, Katchari (Zone B), Saria Farakoba A), respectively) its averaged 4.0 ha–1 across sites. sorghum, Sariasso-14, Sariasso-16, ICSV1049, B) (1.2–1.6 ha–1) A) (1.1–1.9 ha–1). Sorghum SF15, M67-M2, Ponta negra more than 5.0 locations. Maize only differed biomass, with cultivar Wari producing 4.3 Farakoba. stover three species had high fiber, low digestibility, crude protein concentration ranged from 40 94 g kg–1. Fodders dual-purpose cereals are valuable resources crop–livestock systems Sahel region. food–feed has increase productivity livestock, enhancing livelihood small-holder Faso.

Productivity and Nutritive Value of Barley Green Fodder Yield in Hydroponic System
Barley grain was sprouted in a still hydroponic growing chamber for 6, 7 and 8 day periods and sampled for chemical analyses, protein fractions, in vitro digestion and metabolisable energy (ME) determination. Productivity measured on the basis of the input-output balance of barley grain and GF yield. Results showed that CP, Ash, EE, NDF, ADF and water soluble carbohydrate (WSC) were increased w...
متن کاملImpact of Cultivation Technology On Yield and Fodder Value of Winter Triticale Grain
In 2008-2010 grain yield and fodder value of winter triticale cv. Kitaro were assessed. The level of plant protection covered three technologies with various production intensity. Grain yield of winter triticale cultivated on the higher agro technical level was 7,56 t/ha and was respectively almost 36% higher than the yield obtained from standard technology. The intensity of plant protection ag...

متن کاملFall growth, nutritive value, and estimation of total digestible nutrients for cereal-grain forages in the north-central United States.
Throughout the Southern Great Plains, wheat is managed frequently as a dual-purpose crop, but this production paradigm is not necessarily applicable throughout other regions of the United States, and a wider array of management options can be considered for forage-only uses of cereal grains. Our objectives were to assess the fall-growth potential of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), triticale (X Tr...
